Architects and Love : Architect Heroes and the Public Challenge

32 architects from 15 countries, aged between 22 and 95, courageously responded to this challenge: to write a text about what love means to them.

Bravely and generously, they agreed to open themselves up so that the book could be useful and get to you. Some approached the issue from a romantic and intense perspective, while others adopted a theoretical or poetic point of view.

There were also those who chose to make public some of the most important lessons they had learnt throughout their lives.

Behind this book, there is the genuine desire to pass on something good and the wish that it brings a positive change to your life.

The editor expresses gratitude to the authors of the published texts, for their valuable and indispensable contribution, for revealing their emotions, and for taking the risks that come with public exposure.

How is the book organized?

Each author was asked to describe what love meant to them.

The only rule (the worst for architects) was that they could not shield themselves by associating love with architecture.

They were also asked to submit an image or photograph that symbolized the feeling to them; it could have something to do with the text or not.
This may or may not have something to do with the text.

Finally, they were asked for a photograph of themselves as an adult and another one as a child or a baby.
